US Troops: Guilty or Not Guilty of Murder in Iraq?

Who knows, but the news media in the United States seem to WANT even WANT TO INSIST that US troops involved in an incident in Iraq in which a number of people were killed MUST BE GUILTY of murdering them.
Maybe they will be found guilty, but first the investigation must conclude, then, if warranted, charges must be filed, and, finally, a trial must be held. They cannot be guilty unless they are found guilty at a trial.
Therefore, for the time being, the soldiers are innocent until proven guilty.
That, alas, would not in the minds of many American newsmen and women would not make good news. They prefer to go with the common belief among them that the soldiers are guilty now and that the trial, if one is held, will be a mere formality to prove their guilt.
And, the big TV networks wonder why they are losing viewers.
